The Academy will be hosting a Zoom webinar at 10:00AM Friday 4th December when Edmund will explain what STCW licences are required by crew in order to work abroad after Brexit.
Many in the sector have the Article IX certificates of competence such as the Workboat <200GT near coastal which strictly speaking is not internationally recognised since it does not comply with the education & training stated in STCW Regulation II/3. A full explanation will be given of the UK government apprenticeship scheme that is available to the workboat industry with funding of up to £20,000.
The Thames Marine Academy is approved by the UK government to deliver apprenticeships and accredited by the SQA to award the Diplomas required to gain the professional underpinning knowledge for a marine licence. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions during the webinar – register now to gain an understanding of how your company can compete in a global market.
